Vintage Heels For Women
Here you will find the latest style of vintage heels for women that have been inspired by “The Roaring 20s” or “The Jazz Age.” The 1920’s & 1930’s was a decade of exciting social changes, the growth of cities and the increase of mass entertainment. Gender roles, hairstyles, and fashion all changed profoundly during the 1920’s. It was a decade of prosperity and of jazz bands, flappers, bootleggers, and marathon dancers. It was, in the popular view, the roaring 20s, when the younger generation rebelled against traditional taboos.
I enjoy reading about the 1920’s & 1930’s and I also enjoy looking at their attire. The men and women developed their own trend. They broke fashion barriers as well as social barriers. Below I have listed some of the styles of shoe women wore during that era. See just how beautifully the 1920’s has blended with the 21’s century.
Vintage Heels For Women-
The T-straps- was the most popular shoe style of the 1920’s. Women’s feet had been hidden in boots for centuries, the foot was now something to show off. The T-strap allowed the shoe to stay on snug while also showing off some skin. These vintage heels for women below have been beautifully designed to blend the new fad with the classic.

T-straps were a popular look but were not so good for dancing. Marathon dancing becoming a new way of entertainment and was the “in thing” to do during the Great Depression in the 1930’s. With all this dancing something had to be done to secure the pump to the foot. A single ankle strap was added to some T-straps or Mary Jane shoes but eventually more straps were needed. A new dance shoe began to emerge, now it was the more straps the better. Double, triple and criss-cross straps started to become a new style. The fancier the straps the better! Eventually, it gave way to just the ankle strap alone. Nevertheless, the trend is back as you can see these vintage heels for women look amazing!

Mary Jane Pump- Another popular 1920’s vintage heels for women was the Mary Jane. This pump had a single strap across. Some pumps instead of a strap had eyelets on either side and a ribbon strung through and tied in a bow at the top.

Oxford Pump- In the 1920’s the Oxford style pump was used but not so much as a fashion statement. Understandably why, the shoe was one solid color, usually black, white, grey or tan and had a thick military style heel. The two-tone color Oxford pump had more of a saddle shoe design (see the pic 1) and was considered a sportier version of the Oxford shoe. The ugly duckling started to become appealing in the 1930’s when the trend was to wear oxford pumps as an everyday casual shoe. As time passed, the Oxford design began to get jazzier. Laces and curvy lines were added to the shoe and the heel became thinner, making them attractive and a very popular style. Till this day vintage heels for women just keep getting better.

Without a dought, a new kind of woman was born in the 1920’s. She was not afraid of change and didn’t care what others thought of her. She was bold and a fashionista who broke barriers. She has inspired us to be fearless and to rebel against what we believe is unfair. I hope you enjoyed his post on vintage heels for women. Thank you.
Like I mention before I really enjoy reading about the Roaring 1920’s & 30’s and when I was doing so I ran across this very fun website. It gives great information on 1910-1970’s fashion. Vintage Dancer
