Moderate Acne

Best treatment teen acne. Having acne in your teen years is tough the good news is it can be controlled but you need to put some effort into it. Teen acne is most likely due to a poor diet and lack of hygiene, meaning you are not washing your face daily or properly.  Daily your skin releases dead skin cells these cells attach themselves to the oils on your skin and get stuck in your pores. Within a few days, there is enough bacteria to create a pimple which becomes infected and turns into a zit. That’s why it’s very important you wash your face in the morning and before you go to bed every day, this will keep dead skin cells away from your pores and your pores clean from acne-causing bacteria

If your gut is not healthy than your skin doesn’t look good. You need to drink at least 68 ounces of water a day that’s about four water bottles. You also need to stop eating junk food like greasy foods and sugars, eat plenty of veggies and fruits on a daily basis.

Severe Acne

If you don’t see any changes with any kind of regimen (products used to treat your acne) or if it goes away and comes back, then you might have a hormone imbalance or a bacteria on your skin that needs to be eliminated with antibiotics. For this, you will need to see a doctor or a dermatologist. But it’s a good idea to try a regimen first, it’s an inexpensive way to find out.

If you follow this best treatment teen acne daily cleansing routine with the proper regimen and eat healthy you have a good chance you won’t struggle with acne. Also, you are never too young to start caring for your skin. In fact, the sooner you start the better. By doing this you begin to protect your skin from sun damage and other elements that can cause early signs of ageing.

The following is one of the best treatment teen acne routines. This routine has a couple of acne treatments that you will need to keep using well into your adult years. Once you are in your 20’s get a new regimen but you will need to continue using the acne treatments listed below. If you don’t and haven’t had acne Click Here.

This is a daily face cleansing routine for teens ages 13-19 with moderate to severe acne

Below I have listed the products I recommend for the best treatment teen acne skin care and step by step on how to use them. Note, not all products are Avon products but they are products I recommend and work well with Avon products.

*all face creams listed below are suitable for sensitive skin, hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, dye-free, paraben-free and gluten-free.

 Morning routine

  1. Every morning wash your face with warm water and use a face soap that is not an exfoliant, you need to use one for sensitive skin (using exfoliating face soaps or scrubs daily will dry out your skin causing your skin to make more oils). These three cleansers are ones I really recommend any of them will work great:  Avon ClearSkin Blemish Foaming Daily Cleanser, Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Normal to Oily skin, or Cetaphil DermaControl Daily Foam Cleanser.
  2. Pat your face dry and wipe your face with any of these toners: ClearSkin Professional Clarifying Toner Pads or ThayersAlcohole Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner. A toner will shrink pores, moisturize your skin and quickly restore your skins natural pH balance meaning your skin doesn’t have to work so hard to restore itself. Give the toner a few seconds to dry.
  3. Next, apply a thin layer of 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide all over your face (avoid the eye area). This treatment kills acne-causing bacteria. Paula’s Choice Clear Acne Treatment or Proactiv+ Pore Targeting Treatment are the ones I recommend.
  4. Apply a day cream Avon Nutraeffects Balance Day Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Moisturizer. I recommend this one because it controls the oils on your skin. * When you use acne treatments your skin becomes very sensitive to the sun. If you don’t protect your skin from the sun you can get dark spots, discolouration or a bad sunburn on your skin that might leave a scar, so always make sure your day face moisturizer has at least SPF 15.
  5. Next is an eye cream, you want to use an eye cream that’s made for under your eyes if you use the face cream it might burn your eyes. I recommend Avon Nutraeffects Ageless Eye Cream.
  6. Always apply a lip balm or a lip conditioner.

Now you are ready to start your day. If you use makeup you can put it on now. Check out these links for makeup and makeup tips and Makeup Eyeshadow Tips.

(You will use the same cleanser and toner you use every morning)

  1. Every night wash your face with warm water and with the cleanser.
  2. Pat your face dry and apply the toner.
  3. Next, you will need to apply a thin layer of Differin Adapalene Prescription Strength Retinoid Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment. Differin Gel decreases the swelling and inflammation of the skin and promotes quick healing of pimples, it also restores the skin texture and skin tone. It’s a great treatment you can read here on how it helped me.
  4. Now you apply a night moisturizer I recommend Avon Nutraeffects Balance Night Gel Cream but if you feel your skin is getting dry due to the acne treatments you can use Avon Nutraeffects Hydration Night Gel Cream.
  5. Next is an eye cream, I recommend using that same one you use in the day or Avon Nutraeffects Ageless Eye Cream. Like I mentioned before you want to use an eye cream that’s made for under your eyes. If you use the face cream it might burn your eyes.
  6. Moisturize your lips with a lip balm or a lip conditioner.

You are now ready for bed.

With time your skin starts to accumulate dead skin cells causing your skin to look dull and can also cause breakouts. I recommend exfoliating your face once a month before you go to bed. Exfoliating will lift away pore-clogging dirt, excess oil and your skin will look brighter.

This is how to exfoliate your face:

  1. Wet your face with warm water and wash your face with Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub
  2. Pat your skin dry and apply the toner with a cotton ball or face pad. Give it a few seconds to dry.
  3. Now apply your night moisturizer.

*Only do this once a month, the rest of the days follow your normal daily cleansing routine. You can also read more about exfoliating here: How to Brighten Dull Skin.
